Dato' Mona Suraya Kamaruddin

Dato’ Mona has over 30 years of Malaysian capital markets experience (Equities research and Sales) and is currently the President of the Malaysia Independent Non-Executive Director Association (MiNED). She is also an Independent Director of Nomura Asset Management Malaysia and Nomura Islamic Asset Management Malaysia. Dato' Mona previously served on the Investment Panel of Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera, Chief Executive Officer at Affin Hwang Investment Bank Berhad and prior to that, Country Head and Managing Director at Nomura Securities Malaysia, where she established and grew the firm’s Malaysian equities franchise over 11 years. Before Nomura, she was Vice President of Institutional Sales at JPMorgan Securities Malaysia. Dato’ Mona began her career in 1991 as an investment analyst at Arab Malaysian Securities, Standard Chartered Securities Malaysia and Crosby Securities Malaysia, and served as Head of Research at MGI Securities Malaysia. She holds a BSc (Econs) Accounting from the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth.
