Dr. Rahimah Hamdan

Dr. Rahimah Hamdan is a Malaysian scholar, educator and researcher specialising in Traditional Malay Literature, Malay Civilisational Studies, Gender in the Malay World and Cultural Heritage Leadership. As a Lecturer at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), she is committed to bridging cultural wisdom with contemporary global challenges through research, innovation, and international collaboration. Her academic journey spans more than two decades. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Malay Letters from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) before completing her PhD in Malay Literature at Universiti Putra Malaysia. Her doctoral research explored modernity in the literary works of Munshi Abdullah, offering new perspectives on the evolution of Malay intellectual thought.
